An man has reportedly barricaded himself with his family in a hospital in Houston, Texas. The man is believed to be the father of a patient at the Tomball Regional Medical Center. The police is currently in a standoff with the man as they try to diffuse the situation. According to the Harris Country Sheriff's office the incident began at 7 pm on Saturday. AFP reports that a High Risk Operation Unit from the Sheriff's office has been rushed to the medical centre.
Reports suggest that the man was frustrated with the system and that led him to take this extreme step, so the situation may not be linked to terrorism. The man was initially believed to have taken two people hostage at a hospital but the Sheriff's department has confirmed that this is not the case.
