US President Donald Trump suffered a stunning political setback on Friday in a Congress controlled by his own party when Republican leaders pulled legislation to overhaul the US healthcare system, a major 2016 election campaign promise of the president and his allies.

With this defeat, Democratic former President Barack Obama's signature domestic policy achievement, the 2010 Affordable Care Act dubbed Obamacare, will remain in place despite seven years of Republican promises to dismantle it.

Former US Secretary of State and Democratic 2016 Presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton took to Twitter to call Trump healthcare bill withdrawal "a victory for all Americans". She said that 24,000,000 people were saved from losing their health insurance. She reminded that this victory was the result of the effort of people from every corner of the country who spoke up against the bill.

Clinton added that the "fight isn't over yet". In future too, people will have to push back "bad ideas" and embrace "good ones" to make healthcare more affordable as "there is no substitute for standing up and defending our values".

Clinton concluded by tweeting about those who would perhaps, not be able to survive without affordable healthcare; reminding that the fight is really for them.
