United Nations Women chief Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka  has lamented that a girl born today will have to wait for at least 81 years before she gets the same chance as a man to be a CEO of a company.

She said that a girl today will have to wait until she is 50 to have an equal chance to lead a country, according to the Guardian. Adding that not a single country has reached gender parity and equality, 20 years after 189 countries adopted a blueprint to achieve equality for women.

The executive director of UN Women spoke ahead of International Women's Day on Friday and next week's meeting of the Commission on the Status of Women.

Hillary Clinton also spoke declaring in a keynote speech that "Human rights are women's rights and women's rights are human rights".
