Forced into an arranged marriage, Pakistani woman murders her husband and 12 others

A Pakistani woman reportedly gave her husband poisoned milk which ended up killing him and 12 of his family members. The milk was added to lassi which led to 13 of them dying.

The woman, who was forced into an arranged marriage in September, has been arrested along with her alleged lover, senior police official Owais Ahmad told reporters in Pakistan’s Muzaffargarh district.

Police said Asiya Bibi said that while she mixed poison in her husband’s milk, he failed to drink it and the liquid was instead blended into a batch of lassi.

While 13 people have died, 14 more family members have been hospitalised.

"Police have arrested Asiya Bibi, a man and his aunt for being accomplices and charged them with murder," Ahmad said.
