ISLAMABAD: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is no longer “hot” or “cute” — well at least on the social networking website Facebook — as his smart and savvy cousin Fatima Bhutto has toppled him to become the undisputed new “hottie”.

After a rap from Facebook’s administration, the many fake Bilawal accounts vanished, only to replaced by scores of fan clubs created by admirers of 25-year-old Fatima.

Fatima, a writer, poet and grassroots worker, has been very vocal about Bilawal becoming chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party after the assassination of his mother, former premier Benazir Bhutto.

But not being one to believe in dynastic politics has just earned Fatima more fans. “Fatima Bhutto the future of PPP” is one of the fan accounts created on the global network of Facebook that has 131 members.

The post on Fatima reads: “With looks of Mir (Murtaza Bhutto) and intellect that marks her as one of the Bhutto clan, Fatima Bhutto represents Generation-Y of Pakistani political leadership.”

Another account is called “Let’s not assassinate Fatima Bhutto because she’s the hottest Bhutto alive”. The post with many opinions on Fatima describes her as “gorgeous and smart”.

The “Pakistan’s new leader  Fatima Bhutto” account asks members to support her as “Pakistan’s next prime minister”.

Nauman Rashid, a member, wrote that she is the best bet: “I believe she’ll be the best leader for the party. She’s very educated and charismatic like Benazir. I just hope (Benazir’s widower Asif Ali) Zardari doesn’t take over the party!”

There’s also a “Fatima Bhutto vs Bilawal Bhutto” account where almost every one has chosen Fatima as the Bhutto heir.

“Bilawal is not a ‘Bhutto’, he is only a puppet. Zardari now controls PPP and by the time Bilawal will come to Pakistan his father would have ruined a lot of things for him. Fatima, on the other hand, is ready to lead any political movement,” said a comment.

“She is young, daring and smart. She has an opinion which is much more sound than anyone here. If Fatima decides to get into politics I would go out to vote.”

As for Fatima, she has announced loud and clear that none of the accounts on Facebook were created by her.
