There was no mistaking the loud roar heard across the United States (US), as thousands protested against the victory of their new president-elect Donald Trump.
"Not my President", "Trump you're fired" and "We protest the president-elect" were just some of the chants heard from New York to California, signaling clear unrest, frustration and division over the shocking presidential election results.
The night after the November 8 outcome, protests across several states were emotional, violent and tumultuous. Here's a look at the overwhelming distress taking over a stunned nation.
A demonstration was held outside Trump Tower, the president elect's home on Fifth Avenue. Many also chanted "Not my president" at a Manhattan park.
