A construction crane collapsed on Friday morning in downtown Manhattan, and television images show the crane lying across several crushed cars.
A NYPD spokesman said the construction crane collapse was reported at 8:24 a.m. EST at the intersection of Worth Street and Broadway. It was not immediately known if there were any fatalities or injuries. But there were reports of people trapped in their cars, local media said.
The collapsed crane stretches on for more than a block. Police cordoned off the area.
