President Barack Obama will discuss his decisions on how to reform US surveillance practices in a speech on January 17, the White House said on Friday.
Obama has been studying recommendations on changes in the aftermath of revelations by former US spy contractor Edward Snowden.
The White House has previously said Obama would unveil his decisions before his State of the Union address at the end of the month.
