The Office, one of the all-time beloved comedies, is ready to join the revival bandwagon.

According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, Network NBC is looking to get Steve Carell onboard but the star is not returning to play Michael Scott, the regional manager of paper supply company Dunder Mifflin.

Creator Greg Daniels is reportedly attached to the project and a search for the new cast is underway. Daniels adapted the US version from the British Comedy starring Ricky Gervais and Martin Freeman. Incidentally, Gervais is also plotting a movie revival of his version.

The Office had a run of total nine seasons winning multiple Emmys and Golden Globes. It became the platform that boosted the careers of Carell, John Krasinski, Craig Robinson, Ellie Kemper, Mindy Kaling, and Rainn Wilson. It is still one of the biggest providers of memes and gifs.

The current wave of revivals started with Fargo being adapted for the small screen. But it hit the jackpot when Fuller House, follow up of the 80s Full House, found a broadcaster in Netflix.

NBC's latest revival of Will & Grace found good ratings and Golden Globe nomination. Maybe that's the reason The Office is getting a makeover too.
