Salman Khan’s Dus Ka Dum (DKD), the much-hyped game-show that made a comeback after nine years, has not fared well on the rating chart. Despite Dabangg Khan’s charm and wit, the interactive show failed to connect with the audience. When it did not get a good opening (it got 1.1 rating), industry sources had said that the duration (one-and-a-half hours) and the slot (weekdays) were to be blamed. When the ratings failed to pick up subsequently, the makers reduced the duration to one hour. In fact, even their other show, Zindagi Ke Crossroads, was reduced from one-and-a-half hours to one hour.

SHIFTING SLOT

Now, we hear that the makers are trying to introduce further changes in it. Firstly, they are contemplating moving the show from weekdays to weekends. Also, they are planning to make it celebrity-driven. So far, stars like Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Diljit Dosanjh, and Taapsee Pannu, etc, have appeared on the show to promote their films, but every episode doesn’t feature a big name.

Henceforth, the plan is to have a celebrity in each episode. “Everything is under deliberation, but nothing has been finalised as of now. Salman will start shooting for the show again from July 16. Kamal Haasan will visit the sets to promote his film Vishwaroopam 2. The rest of the line-up is not yet clear,” says a source.

CELEBRITIES IN TALKS

After Hrs had told you that Shah Rukh Khan will be appearing in the finale episode of DKD. Now, we have learnt that the team is in talks with Kajol, too, to appear on the show. “Right now, Kajol is in the UK, and she will return to Mumbai after celebrating her birthday on August 5. However, Salman will shoot for DKD till mid-August intermittently, so they are hoping to get her on the show. Talks are on with Rekha, too,” says another source.
