The popular sitcom on Indian television'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' which also is one of the longest-running show on the small screen often hits headlines considering its characters are much loved by fans.

Recently, after Munmun Dutt aka Babita Ji's absence from the show for a prolonged period of time, some media reports suggested that the 'TMKOC' fame actress had quit the show.

For the unversed, the shooting of 'TMKOC', much like the filming of other shows had shifted from Mumbai due to the deadly second wave of coronavirus and the restrictions that were consequently put in place. The emseble cast had shifted to Daman for shooting but Munmun Dutta wasn't part of the entourage and remained absent in the several episodes.

Reportedly, Munmun went missing as Babita Ji from 'TMKOC' after there was a social media furore over her casteist comment.

Now, amid reports of Munmum not being a part of the show, the show's producer has stepped up to clear the air.

Dismissing reports that Munmumn is no longer part of 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah', Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s production house, Neela Film Productions Pvt Ltd owned by Asitt Kumar Modi told ETimes that the actress very much remains a part of the 'TMKOC' family. He said, "Munmun Dutta continues to remain part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah as Babita ji. Any rumors about her quitting the show are baseless and incorrect."

Reportedly, no storyline featuring her was introduced recently and so Munmun wasn't shooting for the show.

For the uninitiated, multiple FIRs were filed against Munmun Dutta earlier this year and the actress was booked under various sections including 3(1) (u) of the SC-ST POA act, section 295(A) (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and section 3 of the Prevention of Atrocities against SC/ST Act for allegedly using a casteist slur in one of her social media videos.
