Hina Khan and Barun Sobti have reportedly accepted the offer to play Komolika and Anurag in Ekta Kapoor’s Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2
Balaji's head honcho Ekta Kapoor is all set to bring back her popular show 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay' on television. Ever since the news of 'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi' fame Erica Fernandes being finalised for the role of Prerna has come out, people have been busy speculating the names of actors who will play the roles of Anurag and television's iconic vamp Komolika in the second edition of the popoular show.
Ekta Kapoor, who has always maintained that it would be difficult to find a replacement for Urvashi Dholakia, recently took to social media to drop a few hints on who will play the role. "So d actor will have to look v innocent ! Child like face n unbelievably sharp hoping to give this antagonist a complete reboot!," she wrote.
As per a report in Bombay Times, Hina Khan is in talks with Ekta Kapoor for the part and after having read Ekta's tweet, the news indeed seems true for Hina does have an innocent face. “Talks have reached an advanced stage and the makers are keen on roping in Hina for the part. She is expected to sign on the dotted line soon.," a source close to the project told the daily. If this piece of news turns out to be true then this will mark Hina's comeback to the fiction genre after two years of quitting 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai'.
A source told indianexpress.com, “Kasautii has always been special for Ekta and now that she is rebooting it, she is keeping a close watch on all developments. The teaser has been shot to officially announce the series and a complete promo will be released once the male lead is locked. The creatives are quite kicked about adapting the show in today’s time and the channel is also betting on the show to garner some ratings for it.”
As far as the role of Anurag (originally played by Cezanne Khan) is concerned, five actors had been conteding for the role namely, Shaheer Sheikh, Ssharad Malhotra, Barun Sobti, Angad Bedi and Mohit Raina. While Shaheer Sheikh and Angad Bedi have reportedly turned down the offer, latest buzz is that Barun is most likely to bag the role. If all goes well, then he will be the one pairing opposite Erica.
