He has been attached to Game of Thrones since its inception and now that the show has just one more season to go, actor Kit Harington says he is already feeling emotional.

The fantasy drama, which is filled with unexpected twist and turns, dragons, army of undead and various noble house fighting for the Iron Throne, has become a major cultural phenomenon in the last seven years.

Thrones just finished its season seven and Harington, who plays fan-favourite Jon Snow on the HBO show, believes the finale was one of the best episodes in the series as the key characters finally came face-to-face for the first time.

"I think it's one of the best episodes of Game of Thrones I've seen. It's got a bit of everything, it fits with the season, and it also fits with Thrones in general, and I love it. I feel very soppy about it at the moment," Harington told Deadline.

"I think the major part of that episode, which really was strange for all of us as actors, was being in that dragon pit and everyone being there just facing each other, like every character."

When asked after the seventh season and going into the eighth and final one as this all comes to an eventual end, how he feels, Harington says it would be a poignant moment.

"I'm already feeling very emotional about it. This is beyond what many actors experience in their lifetime, a kind of phenomenon like this, and I experienced right at the start of my career.

"I think I just want to do a really good job in the final season. I want to finish it well. That's what I care about right now."
