Diet Sabya, an anonymous, sharp-tounged Instagram account, has been giving celeb stylists and designers sleepless nights since March, 2018. The account is dedicated to exposing copies, imitations or appropriations, in fashion. They are known for bluntly calling out names and shaming established and emerging designers and stylists.

In a latest burn, the sassy watchdog uncovered yet another moment of fashion deja vu. On Sunday, their post featured television superstar Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya as they called her out for wearing a rip-off version of the iconic Bengal Tiger belt designed by ace couturist Sabyasachi Mukherjee

"Guts On A Sunday afternoon!! Y’all will often tell us not to blame the celebrity, but you’ve to live under a giant rock to not know that this is an iconic @sabyasachiofficial belt. NO excuses!! #dietsabya #Gandi #copy #lol," Diet Sabya wrote.

Not the one to take things lying down, the actress in no time retorted saying, "My genuine ignorance maybe a big fashion crime for you...but you guys definitely have the guts to be rude to another level. Thanks for pointing out the mistake. No thanks for being inhuman and harsh!"

And the matter didn't get closed there. On Monday, Divyanka dedicated an entire Instagram post to the episode revealing how it left her feeling 'pressurised'.

Sharing a screenshot of a user's comment, Divyanka wrote:

"Sorry guys! I truly wanted to forget yesterday's episode when I was slammed and humiliated (by an insta profile and it's followers) for wearing a belt slightly similar to a branded piece (which I was ofcourse unaware of). But this comment!!!!!! I just couldn't resist putting up your comment on my post!
MORE POWER TO YOU GIRL."

"YOU VERBALISED WHAT I WAS THINKING. EVEN I COME FROM A HUMBLE BACKGROUND!
MAKING MOCKERY OF PEOPLE FOR THEIR DRESSING, IS SUCH AN ARROGANT AND HIGH-HANDED, HIGH SCHOOL SNOB ATTITUDE!"

"THANK GOD, THIS HAPPENED WITH ME! ELSE, I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN THIS SIDE OF BULLYING WORLD.
FEW MAY FEEL EMBARASSED AND KEEP SHUT...BUT I PREFER CALLING A SPADE A SPADE AND BULLYING- BULLYING!
NOPE, I AM NOT A REGULAR CELEBRITY!
I AM DIFFERENT BECAUSE "I AM NO DIFFERENT FROM PEOPLE WATCHING ME" & GETTING BULLDOZED FOR MY CLOTHING...WELL, NOT ACCEPTABLE! "

"This happened to me and I felt so pressurised suddenly, felt like digging a hole and burrying my face. Imagine this happening with people who can't afford great dresses and designs, let alone a stylist or designer. In fact, NOT ALL CELEBRITIES AND STARS ARE RICH in contrast to a common expectation. "

"Few become stars because of their QUALITY OF WORK and NOT WHAT THEY WEAR and HOW MUCH THEY EARN or FOR THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF FASHION WORLD! Everybody has a different forté!
Bullying and belittling someone for that is SO DISHONORABLE, MEAN and VAIN! .
(PS : I could be right or wrong but at least I don't keep shut when being humiliated! It's a lesson for my readers-
"Speak up for yourself when oppressors think they are the bosses!")
Aaahh!! Bol ke kaleje ko thandak mil gai"

The user had criticised Diet Sabya for trying to pull down Divyanka's self-esteem for a petty fashion accessory. "What's iconing about that belt. It just surfaced an year ago and grabbed some eyeballs after some celebs wore it at weddings...Such belts have been available in Bangkok fashion malls for last 4 years...What about women who can't afford or choose not to spend their hard earned money on an overly glorified designer and instead choose to use some locally available elements to complete their look. Are you trying to say fashion is only for the elite and bottomless pockets???...The world doesn't need more self serving bitches like you."

It must be recalled, a few weeks back, Sonam Kapoor had also given a fitting reply to the self-proclaimed fashion critic, who had pointed out her 'Gandi Copy' in an Anamika Khanna creation, which she had worn for Isha Ambani's reception. Sonam had said, “Dear Diet Sabya, this is a bit of a reach on your part. I’m a bit disappointed. As a fan of your inspired page I hoped for better.”

Although the face behind Diet Sabya has yet not been unveiled, the rapidly-growing account is followed by Bollywood fashion mogul Sonam Kapoor and Alia Bhatt among others. Earlier in an email interview with Hindustan Times, the creators of Diet Sabya had explained their reasons for bluntly naming and shaming celebs and designers. “Copying isn’t cool and we will make sure the online universe knows that... About time serial offenders, influential or upcoming — be called out for their mediocrity,” they told the daily.

"It’s the complacency, the sheer ignorance and worst of all, the self-congratulatory culture that has enabled these gandi copies. Far too many pats on the back vs tight slaps. In that sense, we are a solid punch!"
