Though Farah's farewell fell just short of the dream finale, social media was full of praise and respect for the legendary athlete.

Mo Farah's final race as a track athlete did not have the 'golden' ending he and his legion of admirers were hoping for. Farah lost his world 5,000 metres title to Ethiopia's Muktar Edris on Saturday.
Seeking a fitting end to his matchless long-distance racing career before moving to marathon running, the 34-year-old Briton's bid for a fifth straight global 10,000/5,000m double was scuppered as he had to settle for the silver.
Though Farah's farewell just fell short of the dream finale, twitter was full of praise and respect for the legend.
The mayor of London Sadiq Khan took to Twitter to congratulate Farah on an exceptional career.
He is still an all-time great & a hero around the world. Take a bow, Londoner & legend, Sir @Mo_Farah. #OneMoMile #London2017 #LondonIsOpen pic.twitter.com/bkuCrjNPNb

London stadium took the blame for the result claiming they were not 'worthy' of a Farah victory.
Mo Farah, we are not worthy. Thank you. Always golden.

But both are to be remembered.
While some fans could not simply believe the result...
