The Shiv Sena has called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to repeal Article 370 for the integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India and urged him to take some action against the recent attack on pilgrims on their way to Amarnath.

"If a strong message is to be sent to the terrorists and Pakistanis, scrap Article 370 (which grants a special status to Jammu and Kashmir) in the next eight days and show the world that Kashmir is an inalienable part of India. The people are sick of speeches laced with bravado and threats. The country wants action and it will be acceptable even if the Prime Minister acts like a Hitler," said an editorial on Wednesday in the Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna.

The newspaper has Sena President Uddhav Thackeray as the editor and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut as the Executive Editor.

Sena said that people had seen such bloodshed during the Congress rule, which is what led them "to ensure that the brave people (the BJP) came to power in the country." But, little has changed in that regard in Kashmir.

The party regretted the loss of innocent lives and the martyrdom of Indian Army personnel in Kashmir.
