France's teenage world cup winner Kylian Mbappe feels he can take home the Ballon d'Or title this year. The 19-year-old footballer has recently named himself among the favourites to land the best player trophy.

However, Mbappe did not name Lionel Messi among the contenders for Ballon d'Or.

Kylian Mbappe is currently having the best time of his career with World Cup win with France and Ligue 1 title with his club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Mbappe, who scored 4 goals in Russia, won the ‘FIFA Young Player’ award at the FIFA World Cup 2018. He is also being considered as one of the contenders for this year’s Ballon d’Or award. And he agrees with this assesment.

European football's biggest individual prize has been shared between Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for the last decade. However, Mbappe did not name Messi when asked by France Football to name his favourites for this year's honour.

Five-time winner Ronaldo, Golden Ball recipient Luka Modric, fellow France international Raphael Varane and PSG team-mate Neymar all got the nod on his five-man shortlist.

"To complete it, I think I would put myself in there too," he added.

Mbappe became the second teenager after Brazilian legend Pele to win the World Cup. He also joined Pele as only the second teenager to score in a World Cup final.
