Andy Murray in a press conference announced that he will be retiring this year because of the severe pain from his troublesome right hip.

The next week's Australian Open could potentially be his last tournament as a professional, the former world number one said on Friday.

As soon as this news broke out, Tennis stars reached out to Murray asking him to keep fighting and not give up.

Tennis star Grigor Dimitrov also shared a picture with Murray and captaioned it saying, "Tennis will come to an end for us all but the friendships will last a lifetime. What you’ve done for the sport will live on forever. I’m hoping for a strong and healthy finish for you, my friend! @andy_murray"

World No. 5 Juan M. del Potro also wrote to Murray saying, "Andy, just watched your conference. Please don’t stop trying. Keep fighting. I can imagine your pain and sadness. I hope you can overcome this. You deserve to retire on your own terms, whenever that happens. We love you @andy_murray and we want to see you happy and doing well. "

Swedish tennis coach and a retired professional tennis player Magnus Norman also wrote, “If true. Feel down to the bone for Andy Murray right now. Amazing player, fighter, nr 1 and multiple GS champion. Deepest respect”.
