The 19-year-old was the only second teenage player, after Brazil’s Pele, to score in a World Cup final. Mbappe scored France’s fourth goal in their 4-2 victory over Croatia in the 2018 World Cup final on Sunday in Moscow.

The tournament started last month and Mbappe, match after match, impressed with his rapid pace and dribbling skills. That’s when rumours began to link the teenager to Spanish giants Real Madrid. The rumours got stronger when Real announced the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus.

With Ronaldo gone, Real would be in desperation to sign a forward as soon as possible and Mbappe has been considered one of Real targets along with Eden Hazard.

However, Mbappe on Monday confirmed that he will be staying at his current club and Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Mbappe, who made a transfer from Monaco to PSG last season on loan, has said that he has no plans ofleaving PG so soon as he has committed his future to them.

According to reports, Mbappe, who scored 21 goals for PSG across competitions in 20171-8, told reporters, “I will stay with PSG, continuing on my path with them. I am at the beginning of my career.”

Mbappe after a stellar show in the World Cup is expected to receive a massive contract from PSG.

Earlier, on Twitter, Brazil legend Pele paid tribute to the exploits of Mbappe, France's standout, 19-year-old superstar, saying that if the teenager kept equaling his goal-scoring records, Pele might have to strap his boots back on.

Mbappe replied to the tweet in English saying "The king will always remain the king", quickly gaining 15,000 retweets.
