If not the stadiums then fan zones in the hosting cities are the best place to watch the FIFA World Cup 2018. And a fan from Egypt witnessed the true spirit of football when the fans of footie united to give him the best view on the grounds.

In a picture shared by the Twitter user, Caro Morán showed a group of Mexican and Colombian fans hoisting an Egypt supporter, who was in a wheelchair so that he can see the game.

The heartwarming gesture was appreciated by the fans all over the world.

One comment read, "Colombian fans and Mexican fans lifting up an Egyptian fan in a wheelchair so he can watch his country play. THIS is the unity of the beautiful game."

While another commented: "Mexicans and Colombians join forces to help an Egyptian fan in a wheelchair to watch Egypt-Uruguay in a fan zone. What the World Cup is all about."

The joy of that fan must have been cut short when Egypt was defeated courtesy of Uruguay's Jose Gimenez header.

Egypt's star player Mohamed Salah was not part of the playing XI on account of his injury sustained during Champions League final match. Egypt's head coach Hector Cuper rested the striker for the first match against Uruguay on Friday.

Without the pace of the best player in the Premier League this season, Egypt offered little on the attack and eventually gave up a late goal to continue their winless World Cup finals record.

Salah is expected to play in the next group match against Russia. "His condition is so much better," Egypt executive director Ihab Leheta said on Saturday. "He was very upset after the Uruguay game. He thought he could have played and made a contribution."
