Striker Wayne Rooney and the rest of Manchester United’s World Cup stars are set to undergo a cutting-edge fitness program to ensure their availability for the start of the 2010-11 Premier League campaign.
According to the Daily Express, the club’s fitness coach Tony Strudwick wants to make sure all the players are fighting fit for their opening game at home to Newcastle on August 16.
The Old Trafford World Cup contingent will report for pre-season training on July 28.
Coach Alex Ferguson has said he does not want to rush his World Cup aces back into the fray too early.
