A feisty sardar will do well in the India-England Test series and chances are that it isn’t going to be Harbhajan Singh. Bhajji will never be able to recreate the magic with the ball he was hitherto known for.

India’s most successful off-spinner was born with an outstanding horoscope with Uranus and ‘Planet-Y’ in deep exaltation. This rare astrological marvel made him shine as a sparkling jewel. Besides two World Cups, this phenomenon enabled him to win some epic tournaments and made him part of popular folklore. But right now, the first Indian to take a hat-trick in Tests is going through the nadir of his career. Saturn, the tormentor, is troubling the turbanator and is transiting his twelfth house of losses. Saturn will stay put till the end of 2014 and this period would only see a further decline in Harbhajan’s peak prowess.

The veteran who will soon play his hundredth Test has already lost his status as the most preferred spinner and will find it almost impossible to regain it. His ability to single-handedly scythe through teams will be diminished and he’ll continue to find it arduous to take wickets regularly. His comeback may not be spectacular and chances are that the younger spinners will outshine him.

The Mumbai Indians skipper will not be able to lead them to another tournament victory. He will lose the captaincy and even his place in the team sooner than expected. Interestingly, his batting would save his teams in some crunch situations.

Bhajji will find it extremely difficult to surpass Anil Kumble as India’s highest wicket taker in Tests, and overhauling Muttiah Muralitharan’s tally of 800 may remain a distant dream.
