Shane Warne proposed to girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley two weeks ago

Australian cricketer Shane Warne proposed to girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley and the two became engaged two weeks ago, according to reports.

The Daily Mail had reported earlier that Warne proposed to the model-turned-actress over a romantic dinner at the exclusive Old Course Hotel in St Andrews, Scotland, on Thursday.

Warne, the Mail said, made the proposal in front of “stunned VIP guests” in the luxury hotel’s dining room and Hurley, 45, immediately accepted.

However the Sunday Herald Sun in Melbourne has reported the engagement took place weeks ago, reports News.com.au.

The spin king, meanwhile, has seemingly confirmed reports he is engaged to Liz Hurley.

The champion former cricketer has sent a tweet to fans in response to the report that he popped the question over a romantic dinner in Scotland.

The high-profile couple have been dating for 10 months and there’s been persistent speculation that marriage was on the cards.

Hurley officially divorced textiles heir Arun Nayar in June, while Warne separated from former wife Simone Callahan last year.
