In view of the Commonwealth Games next year, the Planning Commission on Friday approved Delhi Government’s demand of Rs10,000 crore plan expenditure, including Rs 1,000 crore for the sports event.
“We have approved the state government’s demand of Rs10000 crore plan expenditure. There will be no shortage of funds to Delhi for the 2010 Commonwealth Games,” deputy chairman of Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia said after a meeting with chief minister Sheila Dikshit.
He complemented the state government for performing “extremely well” in the area of power saying that “there has been a very big improvement over the past.”
Dikshit said during the meeting, Ahluwalia has assured that funds will not be a constrain for Commonwealth Games preparations.
