Mumbai: First innings' centurion Ravi Inder Singh, once again, did the rescue-act with Uday Kaul to take Punjab to safety with a century partnership against Mumbai on fourth and last day of the Ranji Trophy Super League match at the Sector 16 Stadium, Chandigarh, on Friday.

Punjab, who were trailing by 105 runs on Day Three, held the defending champions to a tame draw, finishing the day at 311 for seven in their second innings. With this, Mumbai managed only three points -- by virtue of their first innings lead -- from the drawn match while Punjab got one.

However, one cannot take away the credit from veteran batsmen Pankaj Dharmani (46) and Gaurav Gambhir (50 not out) who held the fort strongly.

As against Punjab's 259 all out in their first innings, Mumbai had declared their innings at 471 for nine on the penultimate day gaining a lead of 212 runs. In reply, Ravi Inder made 58 before being caught behind by Vinayak Samant off Dhawal Kulkarni when the scorecard read 109. Uday Kaul made a 150-ball 61.
