After a long bitter war of words over organisational issues of the CWG, organising committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi and CWG Federation CEO Mike Hooper have buried their differences.

“We are setting aside all the differences and going ahead with the work,” Kalmadi told DNA from London. “We had a long meeting with CGF president Michael Fennell. We are focused on Games,” added Kalmadi, who, a few days ago, wanted Hooper out of New Delhi.

The proposal to form a separate panel to oversee the preparation of the Games has been put on hold for the time being. The organising committee has agreed that Hooper will continue to remain in New Delhi to oversee the preparations.

In a joint statement Fennell and Kalmadi said, “It is critical that our attention is focussed entirely on those functional areas that are essential to the successful celebration of the Games in 2010 and no useful purpose would be served by spending precious time on those issues and we will put this behind us.”
