Union home secretary GK Pillai today held a meeting to review the preparedness of security agencies for the Commonwealth Games.

The meeting discussed functioning of CCTV cameras, flap barriers, boom barriers and uploading of information regarding accreditation, sources said.

Today's discussions came as a follow-up to yesterday's review meeting where senior officials raised concerns on connectivity problems related to TETRA network used for communication and accessing accreditation details.

At that meeting, senior Delhi Police officials had apprised Pillai about the difficulties faced by security agencies in checking the genuineness of accreditation cards as they could not access information.

Card readers could not be installed as the data regarding accreditation were not handed over to Electronic Corporation of India Ltd (ECIL) which were provide the facility for the security agencies.

Pillai was earlier apprised about the difficulties faced by personnel in using the TETRA network for communication. Senior officials had informed him that connectivity was a "problem" and effective communication was affected due to this.

Pillai is understood to have asked Department of Telecom to ensure required frequency for TETRA network and ECIL to expedite the work of installing card readers.
