England midfielder Frank Lampard has disclosed that his biggest World Cup fear is, being drawn in a Group of Death, during next year’s football carnival in South Africa.

Chelsea's England star has admitted that he will be very nervous watching tonight's Cape Town draw they discover who they will be pitted against in the group stages next summer.

He fears that since England are one of eight seeds, it could be drawn against the likes of France, Ivory Coast and Portugal.

"There's normally one Group of Death at every World Cup draw and I bet this one will be no different,” The Sun quoted Lampard, as saying.

"So while it's great to be seeded we could still draw Ivory Coast and then Portugal or France. That would be a Group of Death for sure. That would focus the mind all right,” he added.

Neither France nor Portugal are seeded so England could draw either of them, although not both.

Lampard is hoping to avoid the ‘Hand of Frog’ Thierry Henry and wing king Cristiano Ronaldo.

He also wants to avoid Ivory Coast and Ghana, who have Blues team-mates Didier Drogba and Michael Essien respectively.

"All the England players' minds will be concentrated on the draw. There'll be the excitement of knowing who you will be facing and, hopefully, the relief of having avoided all the dangerous sides and dark horses," he added.
