David Beckham arrives Down Under without wife Victoria

David Beckham arrived in Sydney with his LA Galaxy teammates, but to the disappointment of celebrity watchers, wife Victoria (Posh) was nowhere to be seen.

Beckham, who would be playing in the friendly match against the Newcastle Jets, informed that rest of the family would be staying back home in America to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Despite recent speculation, Beckham said Victoria and their three children were never going to come to Australia.

"No, that was never the plan. My wife and children are celebrating Thanksgiving back home," the Courier Mail quoted him as saying.

"Victoria just got back from a long working trip to Europe and we make sure that one of us is with the boys all the time no matter what we do. Unfortunately it just wasn't possible for her to come,” he added.

Beckham was in Sydney for less than 45 minutes before he boarded another Qantas flight up to Newcastle ahead of Saturday's game with the Jets.
