Footballer Ashley Cole and his ex Cheryl, who are apparently now reconciled, have cancelled their plans for a romantic trip to Sir Richard Branson's Caribbean mansion after a massive fire broke out earlier this week.

Cheryl, 28, had always wanted to visit the Virgin billionaire's plush home and fancied a holiday at the tycoon's 90million pounds Necker Island retreat.

But they changed plans after an inferno gutted the 14-bedroom Great House.

Now the couple are looking at other destinations " including Roman Abramovich's home in St Barts " for a short holiday when Ashley's football duties with Chelsea and England allow.

“Cheryl and Ashley were due to go to Necker Island but obviously that's out of the question,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“They do have other places they could go for a short romantic trip away though.

“It is only going to be a very short trip due to Ashley's football commitments,” the source added.

The couple " who divorced last September " have been taking things slowly since they patched things up last month.
