All eyes set on Gautam Gambhir in NKP Salve Challenger Trophy

All eyes will be on Gautam Gambhir when India Red lock horns with India Blue in the opening match of the NKP Salve Challenger Trophy at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Jamtha, near Nagpur, on Monday.

The India opener’s England tour was cut short due to multiple injuries (head and elbow). He returned to competitive cricket and led Kolkata Knight Riders in the Champions League Twenty20.

Given that the first ODI between India and England will be played on October 14, Gambhir is likely to play only two matches in Nagpur before embarking for Hyderabad. India Green, led by Harbhajan Singh, are the third team. India Blue are the defending champions. The final will be played on Thursday.
