British tour operator Thomas Cook on Tuesday became the 23rd London Olympics sponsor, providing short break packages and tickets for the 2012 Games, organisers said.

The deal, thought to be worth about 20 million pounds ($32.85 million), will see Thomas Cook provide more than 250,000 packages including accommodation, transport and event tickets for people attending the Games in east London.

Sebastian Coe, chairman of the London Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG), said the deal would help deliver "affordability and accessibility".

Olympic organisers said last month they had raised their sponsorship target from 650 million pounds to 700 million pounds, defying the economic downturn. About 570 million pounds has been raised so far.
