Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan had stirred up a controversy on Wednesday night by appearing to claim that Indian commentators were biased against their own team.

On Wednesday, Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter to express his displeasure over the nature of commentary by Indian commentators during India's 1-run win over Bangladesh at the ICC World Twenty20. He said that the commentators should focus more on speaking about Indian players than those from other countries.

While Amitabh's comments led to a storm on social media, commentator and journalist Harsha Bhogle put up a long Facebook post defending his commentary and was at pains to explain the concept of unbiased commentary on global television.

All in all, this 'controversy' looks like nothing more than a storm in a tea cup. While it is true that some commentators show bias in the box, the job of a commentator, as Bhogle pointed out, is to be unbiased in front of a global audience.
