World Cup 2015: President Pranab Mukherjee lauds Team India's spectacular win over South Africa

India crushed South Africa by 130 runs in a Pool-B game at Melbourne to register their second consecutive victory of the tournament. This was also the first time India won against South Africa in the World Cup.

President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday congratulated the Indian team for their second victory in the World Cup 2015.

"Hearty congratulations to you and all members of your team on your victory in the match against South Africa, the second of our ICC World Cup 2015 campaign. I am happy to know that this is India's first ever win against South Africa in World Cup matches," the President said in his message to Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the captain of Indian Cricket team.

"This has become possible because of the all-round performance displayed by every member of the team. My best wishes for continued success in the remainder of the tournament," he added. India on Sunday crushed South Africa by 130 runs at Melbourne to register their second consecutive victory of the tournament. This was also the first time India won against South Africa in the World Cup.

Opting to bat first, the Men in Blue posted 307 for 7, riding on opener Shikhar Dhawan's marvelous 137. In reply, South Africa were bundled out for 177 in 40.2 overs. Shikhar Dhawan was adjudged man of the match.
