Ravindra Jadeja is often referred to as 'Sir' due to his unique abilities of doing unusual things. Thursday was no different as the left-arm spinner left all the 14 people present on the ground in splits with a delivery of his which has no definition in conventional cricket.

In the 58th over of Australia's innings, Jadeja, while trying to put more revolutions on the ball overcompensated and sent down a delivery to Peter Handscomb which reached him in two drops. A delivery which gets to the batter in two bounces is deemed as legal, so the Aussie tried to blast it on the off side and missed it by whiskers. Wriddhiman Saha was very excited behind the stumps as the ball had missed the bat's edge by an inch. India were that close to getting a wicket which would have been awarded to them as a gift.

It didn't happen though, Handscomb survived and had a healthy laugh about it. Virat Kohli, Jadeja and all the close-in fielders couldn't put up a serious face for too long as they too burst out in laughter. That's why they say, "Don't underestimate the power of Sir Ravindra Jadeja".

Pacer Umesh Yadav claimed four wickets on a pitch that offered big turn to help India restrict Australia to 256 for nine after the touring side had made a solid start on the opening day of the four-match series on Thursday. Paceman Mitchell Starc, who would be expected by Australia to play a role similar to that of Umesh with the ball, smashed an unbeaten 57 to frustrate the hosts and take his team past 250.
