The third ODI between South Africa and Sri Lanka at Johannesburg was interrupted by a swarm of bees on Saturday.
Choosing to field first after winning the toss, the Proteas were going great guns by dismissing four of the top-order batsmen of the visitors for 117 runs. However, during the 27th over bowled by Chris Morris, a bee invasion forced the players and umpires to lie down on the ground.
The bees were they to stay which forced everyone to trudge off the field. A fire extinguisher was brought in to disperse the bees but all efforts went in vain and till reports last came in, play couldn't resume.
