Vijay Hazare Trophy: Parthiv's century puts Gujarat in pole position against Delhi

Parthiv Patel (105 batting off 118 balls) played a perfect captain's knock, scoring a well deserved century in the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy against Delhi on Monday. 

Gujarat were in a promising position at the end of 37 overs with 193 on board for the loss of  three wickets. The wicket keeper got an able companion in left hand bat Rujul Bhatt (56 off 74 balls) who scored a well timed half century.

Gujarat was put into bat by Gautam Gambhir and they were jolted by two quick blows from Ishant Sharma (1/19) and Navdeep Singh (1/41), who accounted for the wickets of Bhargav Merai and Priyank Panchal respectively. However, Patel and Bhatt dropped anchor and brought up an 149-run unbeaten partnership which was broken by Nitish Rana (1/18) who got Bhatt caught behind.
