Unfair to talk about his personal life: Azharrudin backs Virat Kohli

Former India captain Mohammed Azharuddin said rather than discussing Virat Kohli's personal life, people should talk about his performance on the ground. Kohli was in a great form throughout during India's campaign in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. But his relationship with the actress Anushka Sharma is often talked about. 

Asked at a function here what advice he would give to Kohli on how to deal with such matters, Azharuddin said, "I think the press should tackle it first properly. It is someone's personal life, you cannot talk about it. Virat is a cricketer and one should look at what he is doing. Presently, he is performing really well."

"I think one should leave the things happening in someone's private life. I think one shouldn't be too judgemental," he said. Kohli had recently hit out at social media 'trolls' for targeting Anushka. Actor Emraan Hashmi, who has shared screen space with Kangana Ranaut in "Once Upon A Time in Mumbai", also refused to comment on the personal life of the "Queen" actress. Ranaut is in news currently because of her spat with Hrithik Roshan.
Azharuddin and Emraan were speaking at the trailer launch of the biopic "Azhar". Emraan is playing Azharuddin in the film.
