Barcelona are not taking Champions League progress for granted, despite holding a 2-1 advantage, heading into Wednesday's Champions League last 16 second leg tie at home to Manchester City, head coach Luis Enrique said on Tuesday.

Only twice in the Champions League era has a team won a knockout round tie, after losing the first leg at home, but Enrique said Barca will 'still need to be at their best' if they are to secure a place in Friday`s draw for the last eight.

Seeking a record eighth consecutive quarter-final appearance, Barcelona have progressed 33 out of 35 times they won the first leg away in European competitions. Their most recent win was against City at the same stage last season, when the English side appeared in the round of 16 for the first time.

"What is clear is that we are not taking anything for granted. We will be facing one of the favourites for the competition, for the title. We are still only halfway through the tie and have to play the return yet and looking at their players we can see they have the potential to make life difficult for us. They got back into the tie in the first leg despite our great start to the game. We are not taking anything for granted" - Barcelona coach Luis Enrique

"Having Leo is always an advantage. The moment he finds himself it is an advantage to have him as he is one of the very few players that can win a match on his own. We hope he will play the same way he has played lately because that is a guarantee. The numbers are what they are and tomorrow we will play considering those numbers. We will have to play very well if we want to win as that is what comes with playing Manchester City" - Andreas Iniesta

The Spaniard relies on his attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, but pointed out Barcelona has more goal scorers.

"I think (the three) have found their spark already. They stand out in numbers, attitude, performance, in assisting, in defending. All our attackers stand out, the four or five we have: Munir (El Haddadi); Pedro; Sandro - but they can`t all do hat-tricks at the same time," said Enrique.

That is impossible because this is a complicated sport. This is neither handball nor basketball where many players can hit the net. This is football and it is complicated. All our strikers are doing a great job," added Enrique.

Messi could reach 400 goals with Barca if he scores a hat-trick against City. The Argentine broke a Spanish hat-trick record against Rayo Vallecano on March 8, netting his 32nd treble for Barcelona in all competitions in the space of just 12 minutes. It meant he eclipsed the record of the most hat-tricks ever recorded in Spanish football, that he had shared with Athletic Bilbao striker Telmo Zarra.
