Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza has said that she will partner Romanian Horia Tecau in the mixed doubles event of the Australian Open in January next year.

Sania, along with Mahesh Bhupathi and India’s current highest ranked – Somdev Devvarman were at Khar Gymkhana on Saturday to participate in the ‘Indian Tennis Professional Association’s’ (ITPA), invitation tournament.

About her women’s doubles’ partner, Cara Black, she said, “Cara and I haven’t lost a match, and have won the two tournaments we have played together. She was in Hyderabad practising with me. We are really excited about the future and are doing the right things towards it.”

Though Sania isn’t fit yet to play singles , she is hoping to compete in the singles event at the Asian Games in October next year. “One can’t predict what is going to happen one year from now but If my body feels well, I might just play,” she stated.

When asked who is her favourite partner, she said, “Every partner has their share of good and bad. It will be unfair to name one person. But at the moment I will have to say Cara Black because I am playing with her.”
