Saina Nehwal releases autobiography, hopes to inspire youngsters

Ace badminton player and current World No 3 Saina Nehwal has released her autobiography here, with the hope that it will inspire the younger generation to take up the sport, or any other sports.

Nehwal, 22, was all smiles at the event, and said she wanted to inspire youth and sports enthusiast to fulfil their goals and bring pride to the country.

"I am sure everyone will like it, I hope all the youngsters get inspired by it and in future I see lot more Saina Nehwals coming up," said Nehwal.

The youth icon's autobiography has been titled Playing to win, my life on and off court.

Ace shooter and Olympian Gagan Narang and Badminton player Parupalli Kashyap were also present to support Nehwal who has the credit of getting India its first medal at Olympics in the sport.

An ecstatic yet calm faced Nehwal also spoke about her injury ahead of the Super Series final in China and tournaments in Korea and Hong Kong.

"It is better I am recovering well, but we are always having injuries it is not easy to maintain but I am trying to make myself more fit," said Nehwal.

Nehwal won a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics in women's badminton singles after China's Wang Xin collapsed with a knee injury. She also won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games held in New Delhi.

She has also been awarded one India's highest sporting award the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna.
