Rohit Sharma may have enthralled Indian fans with his explosive batting for the last few years, but the upcoming limited overs series against England will not see the big hitter in action. The reason may be known to most of the fans but the ones who weren't aware of it, felt hard done after not finding their hero in the ODI and T20I squads which were declared on Friday.

However, the Mumbai lad was quick to restore calm by tweeting, "Guys thank you for all your concern I'm not fit yet but I am targeting the Australia series if all goes well thank you for the love."

Incidentally Rohit was hurt during the five match ODI series against New Zealand, last year and subsequently missed the five match Test series against England which Indian won 4-0. The aggressive batsman's tweet also reiterates the fact that he is gearing up for the Australia series which will start on 23 February.

Indian cricket entered a new era as Virat Kohli was on Friday officially anointed captain for all three formats as he took over leadership for the limited-overs series against England where veterans Yuvraj Singh and Ashish Nehra will make a comeback.

While MS Dhoni, after more than nine years at the helm, will play only as keeper-batsman, the national selection committee under MSK Prasad's chairmanship named rookie Delhi keeper Rishabh Pant in the T20 squad giving an indication as to whom they consider Dhoni's successor.
