There's a lot of chaos in the Indian tennis contingent as veteran player Leander Paes, who is due to partner Rohan Bopanna in men's doubles is yet to arrive in Rio de Janeiro. The rest of the members of the team have already checked into the Games Village on August 1. As a result,  Bopanna is being forced to practice with other players, reported CNN-News18.

However, the problem doesn't end here. Reportedly, Paes has informed the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) that he didn't wish to share a flat with doubles partner Bopanna in the Olympic Village.

Incidentally, Bopanna and Paes haven't played together that often and their last outing was in July in the Davis Cup tie against the Koreans. It is a well-known fact that the duo does not share a great relationship. Bopanna, whose first choice was Saketh Myneni, was forced to pair up with Paes due to a directive by All Indian Tennis Association (AITA).

Vece Paes, Leander's father, reportedly explained the reason for his son's absence. He said that his son was only late by half a day and that this was discussed by the team during the Davis Cup tie in Chandigarh. He also informed that the 18-time doubles/mixed doubles winner will reach Rio by Thursday evening.
