According to ESPNCricinfo, Rahul Dravid is likely to be appointed coach of the India Under-19 team. He might also play an important role with the India 'A' side.

The BCCI reportedly has a "role in mind" for Dravid. It is also understood that Dravid was approached to join the advisory committee but he was keener on a more hands-on role.

ESPNCricnfo reports that he is being considered to take over the India under-19 and 'A' teams. Dravid is known to enjoy working with younger players, as evidenced by his success as mentor of Rajasthan Royals where the likes of Sanju Samson, Karun Nair, Deepak Hooda and others have prospered in recent years.

Dravid had a short stint as a mentor with the Indian team last year, and several players heaped effusive praise on him.

There was talk among the BCCI top brass to offer Dravid the position of head coach, but he has been reportedly reluctant to take up a full-time role. Thus, the role of under-19 coach is being offered to him.

The BCCI seems keen to get retired Indian greats on board to contribute to Indian success. It has already appointed Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman to an advisory committee, which will soon hold its first meeting.
