Pep Guardiola lost his first game as the manager of Manchester City at the hands of his previous club Bayern Munich in a friendly match on Wednesday in Bavaria.

Guardiola returned to the stadium where he coached the German champions for three years, lifting league trophy each season. Despite his regular excitement, hand waving, pointing and screaming of instructions, the thrilling friendly was won 1-0 by his previous club, who even prepared a 'Welcome back' banner for the Spanish coach. Bayern is now being managed by Carlo Ancelotti, who was previously Real Madrid coach.

Both the teams were missing key players due to recently ended Euro 2016 and Copa America. Vincent Kompany, who skipped the Euro tournament due to injury, was also seen on the bench. 20-year-old substitute Erdal Ozturk scored the only goal in the match at the 76th minute that ensured them the win.

City will now play derby against rivals Manchester United in China on Monday.
