Pankaj Advani and Aditya Mehta will lead India's charge at the upcoming Snooker World Cup in Wuxi (China) which will take place from June 15-21.

Teams from 24 other nations will be chasing a prize money of $200,000 from an overall $800,000 expected for the winners. India are placed in Group A and have to face top seeded China A, Austria, Singapore, Norway and Malta. The tournament is divided into groups of six with each of them playing five matches initially.

The tricky short format also includes two singles, two reverse singles and a frame of doubles involving an alternate shots contest between players. Mehta, who has recently traveled to UK for the start of the current season said he was looking forward to the tournament.

Mehta also added that he was proud to represent India in such a prestigious tournament and also lauded Advani's skill as a world class player on the world circuit. In the previous edition, India had finished third in their group behind England and Northern Ireland.

Despite having to face some top  names in the upcoming tournament Advani said that a top-two finish and qualification to the play-offs remain their first priority.

Incidentally China has become the new face of world snooker with the sport getting massive popularity in the country, a fact which both Mehta and Advani are excited about.

The 29-year-old Advani will look at the tournament to rub shoulders with his fellow professionals, with the ace player having a busy schedule as of late thanks to the final of the RKG 1st Pro Snooker Series in Mumbai, which ends on June 14.

Advani signed off that he will look to adapt his game against more superior talent in China and hoped for a stellar performance.
