Paralympic runner Oscar Pistorius had reportedly threatened to withdraw from the London 2012 Olympics if his former girlfriend refused to fly over to support him. Pistorius sent a flurry of calls, emails and texts from London, sometimes reaching 30 a day, to beg his former girlfriend Samantha Taylor to join him. In one message from the Olympic Village, Pistorius even said that he is sorry for being such a 'f*** up'.

The Paralympian fumed, pleaded and sobbed down the phone to Taylor at her home in South Africa, The Mirror reported. Taylor described Pistorius' behaviour during the Games as a mess. She had noticed a dramatic change in him from the moment he began his final training for the Olympics. The double amputee became the first double leg amputee to participate in the Games before setting two world records at the Paralympics.

Taylor said that Pistorius was an emotional rollercoaster, adding that he told her in an email that if she did not come over then he does not want to participate in the Olympics. She said that he often cried just before a race while on the phone to her, and when he got up to get awards she could see he was sad. Taylor said that Pistorius also put his glasses on when he was on TV because he cried a lot.

The couple had broken up just before he flew to London after Taylor caught him cheating with a Russian model. She said that he felt frustrated, adding that he wasn't getting through to her and she wasn't giving him a second chance. Taylor also said that after they broke up she tried to support him as much as she could.
