One held for selling ISL final tickets in black

Action against fraudsters are being made based on information provided by local media and football fans, police said on Friday.

One person was on Saturday arrested in connection with selling of tickets for the final of the Indian Super League tournament in the black market with police keeping a close watch following tip-off in this regard from football fans. Action against fraudsters are being made based on information provided by local media and football fans, police said on Friday. Tickets for the final, to be held in Kochi on Sunday, are being sold in the black market at high rates through websites and social media groups created by fraudsters, they said.

Police said ISL tickets with a value of Rs 300 are being sold at a very high price through the websites and WhatsApp groups created by fraudsters, cashing in on the popularity of the game in the state. Local television channels even aired voice records of their conversation with some fraudsters who sought over Rs 3000 for tickets worth Rs 300.

One person identified as Mustafa from Malappuram district was arrested by Kochi city police in connection with selling of ISL tickets in the black market, police said.

Tickets for the high volatile summit clash between Kerala Blasters and Atletico de Kolkata is selling like hotcakes. Several football fans, who came to Kochi from Malabar region of the state seeking tickets, have been left disappointed. Police said no complaints have been lodged by ISL organisers about the black market sale of tickets at high price
