McIlroy replaces Woods as new face of EA Sports' PGA Tour golf franchise

World number one golfer Rory McIlroy has replaced legendary American golfer Tiger Woods as the new cover star of EA Sports' PGA Tour golf video game.

The Northern Irishman, a four-time Major winner, said that he was very proud and humbled to see his face and name on EA Sports Rory McIlroy PGA Tour, adding that it was a great honor, and something he couldn't even dream of, growing up playing the sport, the Mirror reported.

The game is scheduled to be released in June 2015, when EA Sports releases it for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
