Floyd Mayweather has reportedly gone on record to say that he would be open to a rematch after Phillipines boxer Manny Pacquiao recovered from shoulder surgery.

The statement came as Mayweather has one fight remaining on his Showtime contract. He had previously voiced his intention to retire after a bout fight in September but after Saturday's fight, he told reporters that he was "human" and could contradict himself occasionally, reported Sport24.

Mayweather said that he will fight Pacquiao in a year after he recovered from shoulder surgery.

Pacquiao complained of an injury after he was defeated on points by the American boxer in Las Vegas on Saturday.  However, he had not declared his injury on a pre-fight questionnaire.

The orthopedic surgeon Neal ElAttrache said that they had an MRI scan which confirms Pacquiao has a rotator cut off tear.

The much anticipated 'Fight of the Century' didn't quite live upto the hype, as Mayweather was very defensive in approach before he was declared the winner on points by unanimous decision.
